You ask me; why?

But how am I to find words
         In which to
                  Translate

The glow in your skin.
    The electricity in your lips
            The Satin embedded in your
                                               Fingertips.

And when you held my past regrets
                      In your hands
     And kissed them all away
                [Raindrops on my skin]
How was I to find words to tell you
           What that meant to me.                                    [_Everything]
(Would “That’s what I’ve always wanted” suffice?)
                     [I’m not sure it’s enough]

You tell me truths;
         And instead of feeling afraid
I find myself comforted.
          Warm.
                          [Like watching the dancing of fireflies]
How will you ever know how special that makes you?

             In a world full of Negativity and Betrayal,
  It’s nice to have someone that gives you Light.


         Even if they’re damaged too.
